My Weekly Training

I am on either my mountain or road bike, six days a week. At least two of these rides are high intensity. At least two of these are endurance. I weight train twice a week. I use AltRed, daily. Before a high intensity ride or race, I take it two hours before and then during.

Why is the PhytoRebellion Important to Me?

I am still new to the sport of cycling, mountain biking, and racing both. I am in my second year of racing and am considered to be quite competitive. At my age of 43, I look for any advantage I can to improve my endurance, performance, and recovery. I understand the importance of overall health on all these aspects of the sport. I have completely committed myself to the sport in all realms of my life. It’s never too late to start a new lifestyle and give yourself more than you thought you ever had to give!

In order to submerge oneself into such a lifestyle, it takes commitment, hard work, patience, and more importantly knowledge and understanding of fitness and nutrition. I have been blessed to have people help me along the way to make this all happen. I have also come to the realization, that these things may not be enough and have done plenty of research on supplements, mostly plant based, to try and gain an understanding of phytonutrients.

Upon research of phytonutrients and other supplements, I learned how plants can help provide the body with high quality micro-nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants in addition to supplying high quality macro nutrients such as carbohydrates, fats and proteins. All of this research made me eager to begin trying something new to hopefully enhance and improve what I was already doing. That is when I came across phytonutrient, AltRed. I have been using it for five months now and can honestly say that I believe it has made a difference in both my recovery and performance. I have been continuously making gains in my power, endurance, performance, and recovery. I feel my biggest gains have been in the recovery and the time it takes to recover and feel strong for the next ride. I plan to continue using AltRed, and would be open to trying other phytonutrients and supplements that are proven to enhance my performance and improve my health.
